Can my partner or my child(ren) join the maternity photo shoot?
A maternity shoot isn’t just about that beautiful round belly — it’s about this unique moment in your family life.
That’s why the answer to this question is a resounding yes: your partner and your other child(ren) are more than welcome.
Why we actually recommend it
A pregnancy doesn’t just change you, but the whole family. The look of a big brother or big sister gently touching the belly, or the way your partner holds you from behind — those are exactly the moments that will move you most later on. A pure portrait of the belly is beautiful, but these connecting moments give the photos extra depth and emotion.

How do we handle this?
We usually structure the shoot in two parts:
First together, with your partner and/or child(ren)
these are often the most relaxed, playful moments, because everyone distracts each other and it feels less like “posing.”
Then solo, just you and your belly
for those pure, timeless portraits.
This way you get the best of both worlds, without having to choose.

Tips if your child(ren) are coming along
Just announce the shoot as “a fun outing” instead of something where they have to stand still for a long time — keeping expectations low works best.
Bring a snack or a small drink for in between.
Don’t expect perfectly styled, still-sitting children — it’s often the spontaneous, slightly messy moments that are the most beautiful.
Ideally, plan the shoot at a time when your child is well-rested (not right after school or just before a nap).

And what should they wear?
You choose your outfit from our client closet — you don’t need to drag along a full wardrobe for your partner and child(ren) as well. Just pick something from their own closet in a color that matches what you’re wearing (think beige, white, or soft blue), and it will immediately look like a cohesive whole. Doubting the right color combination? Feel free to send over a photo before your shoot, and we’ll think along with you.

And what if my partner prefers not to be in the photos?
That’s also completely okay. Some couples consciously choose only mom-and-belly photos, and that is an equally beautiful, valid choice. There is no “must” — we simply follow what feels best for you as a family.
