When is the best time during my pregnancy for a photoshoot?

Your bump is growing, and somewhere amidst the busyness of pregnancy, the question arises: when should I actually plan that photoshoot?

Too early and your bump isn’t quite round enough; too late and you might not be as comfortable posing for long. Fortunately, there’s a clear answer.

The golden window: between 28 and 34 weeks

Most moms-to-be feel their best during this period. Your bump is beautifully round and clearly visible, but you aren’t so heavy yet that standing or lying down for long becomes uncomfortable. You’re often still in a good flow energy-wise, just before those final, tiring weeks.

Of course, every pregnancy is different. Some moms carry high, others low; some feel super comfortable in front of the camera at 25 weeks, while others prefer to wait until week 33. There is no wrong week — this is simply the period that works best for most women.

What else do we take into account?

Due date
we like to plan with a small margin, so a shoot isn’t compromised if the baby arrives a bit early.

Season and location
if you choose an outdoor shoot, the weather and light also play a role in the ideal week.

How you feel
some women have less energy as early as the first trimester, while others don’t. Above all, listen to your own body.

Pure Life Tip

A shoot is still perfectly possible at 36 or 37 weeks.
We simply adjust the poses so they remain comfortable for you.
More important than the “perfect” moment is that you feel good on the day itself.

Our advice

Book your shoot as soon as you have an indication of your due date, sometime from the second trimester onwards. This way, you can calmly choose a moment within that golden window, instead of having to scramble because the schedule is already full.
